SEARCHING THE GLOBE FOR A NEW KIND OF HEROINE.
Named a New York Times Editor’s Choice, Adventure Divas is a pro-woman chronicle for the twenty-first century – and has paved the way for all of us to discover our own diva within.
After years of working behind a desk, Holly Morris had finally had enough. So she quit her job and set out to prove that adventure is not just a vacation style but a philosophy of living and to find like-minded, risk-taking women around the globe- artists, activists, and politicos–women of action who are changing the rules and sometimes the world around them. Along the way, Morris herself becomes a certified Adventure Diva, as she hunts for wild boar with Penan tribesmen in the jungles of Borneo, climbs the Matterhorn short-roped to a salty fourth-generation Swiss guide, and memorably becomes the first woman ever to enter the traditional camel race of the Saharan oasis town of Timia. Named a New York Times Editor’s Choice, Adventure Divas is a pro-woman chronicle for the twenty-first century – and has paved the way for all of us to discover our own diva within.
Holly Morris is the founder of Adventure Divas, Inc., and is writer/director/host/exec producer and all around creative heavy of Adventure Divas, the award-winning PBS documentary series. Whether she’s interviewing Prime Ministers on the hot seat, or Black Panthers on the lam — in the brothels of Mumbai, the cane fields of Cuba, or the beauty parlors of Iran — Morris chases down her subjects and exacts a story that is fresh and idea-driven. Morris’ writing and reporting has garnered acclaim from the audience and critics alike.
On-camera, Holly’s reported about Iran’s illegal caviar trade for National Geographic Explorer, hosted Outdoor Life Network’s Outdoor Investigations, and covered India’s sex trafficking trade for PBS. As a long-time presenter on the popular PBS travel series GlobeTrekker, she’s filmed in more than 20 countries, including Zambia, Malawi, Niger, India, Paraguay, Gabon, Uruguay, Turkmenistan, Ukriane, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Norway, Azerbaijan, Borneo and Georgia.
